Legal English of Contracts

Course Objective: to learn the application of legal English & enhance the students' overall legal English skills:
Listening, understand the client's intention,
Speaking, be able to communicate with the customer in a proper way,
Reading, understand the key issue of the sample contract,
Writing, be able to modify the model contract and write the comments / clarifications of a contract
 
Course Arrangements:
The course will be organized in a way of taught seminars, and each seminar will contain mainly three parts: Part one is the study of legal English text of basic contract knowledge, in which students will have the chance to read the original English law books, and Part 2 is the workshop of case study of contracts, in which students will work on genuine English contract (sample) and will come out of the course with a "Comments & Clarifications on Model Contract" as the lawyers are normally asked to provide to the customer(s) in the non-litigation service. Part 3 is the Oral communication workshop designed & taught by our Canadian Lecturer Mr. Schiller Gregory Ronald
